Application Scenarios
Airproz air-to-water heat pumps are designed for a wide range of residential and light commercial heating applications:
Residential Homes & Villas
Our monobloc heat pumps are the ideal replacement for gas boilers in residential homes and villas. A single outdoor unit handles space heating in winter, cooling in summer and domestic hot water year-round — no additional boiler or separate hot water cylinder required. Compatible with both new-build and retrofit projects.

Apartment Buildings & Multi-Unit Residential
Available in 6kW to 18kW capacities, our heat pumps are suitable for individual apartment installations or centralised multi-unit systems. Low water outlet temperatures make them fully compatible with underfloor heating systems commonly used in new European apartment developments.

Boiler Replacement & Retrofit Projects
Our low-temperature models (outlet up to 55°C) are designed to work with existing radiator systems in older buildings, making them suitable for gas boiler retrofit projects across the UK, Poland, Germany and other European markets where government subsidies are driving heat pump adoption.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an air-to-water heat pump and how does it work?
An air-to-water heat pump extracts heat energy from outdoor air and transfers it into a water-based heating circuit. This heated water is then distributed to underfloor heating, radiators or a domestic hot water cylinder. Because it moves heat rather than generating it, an air-to-water heat pump typically delivers 3–4 units of heat energy for every 1 unit of electricity consumed. Read more: How Does an Air to Water Heat Pump Work?
Can an air-to-water heat pump replace a gas boiler?
Yes. Air-to-water heat pumps are the most common gas boiler replacement technology in Europe. Our low-temperature models deliver water outlet temperatures up to 55°C, making them compatible with most existing radiator systems. For older buildings with high-temperature radiators, we recommend assessing radiator sizing before installation. Read more: Air to Water Heat Pump for Heating Systems
Does the heat pump work in very cold climates?
Yes. Our monobloc heat pumps are rated for ambient temperatures down to -20°C, making them suitable for cold climates across Northern Europe, Canada and similar regions. Performance does reduce at very low temperatures, so correct sizing for your climate zone is important. Contact our technical team for climate-specific sizing guidance.
What refrigerant do your heat pumps use?
Our space heating heat pumps use R32 refrigerant, which has a significantly lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) than R410A. R32 is fully compliant with current EU F-Gas regulations and is the standard refrigerant choice for heat pumps in the European market. Read more: R290 vs R32 Heat Pump Refrigerant Guide 2026
Do you offer OEM and private label heat pumps?
Yes. We support full OEM and private label programmes for heating brands and distributors. Your brand can be applied to the unit, packaging and all documentation. CE and ErP declarations can be issued under your brand name. Contact our OEM team to discuss your market and volume requirements.
